Sachi Lunch Totes

So I 'know' that I am generally 'supposed' to promote other homemade items, etsy sellers, etc. in my blog... but somtimes I see things that are straight-up mass-produced that I NEED! lol! Ok let me back up a little... I LOVE QVC at the holidays. It is honestly the only time of the year that I know I'm going to be spending $ on a wide variety of people and I need a wide variety of gift ideas. Watching QVC to me is like going to the mall and having a personal shopper stand infront of me and present gifts they think I should buy. I love it! Most of the items are not my style, but every now and then there will be something randomly shown that I need but I didn't even know I needed/wanted it! This was the case for Sachi "Lunchin' Ladies" Insulated Zip Top Lunch Tote. I soo totally need this for myself! Not only do I take my lunch every day to work, but this 'style' lunch box is perfect for (I am not condoning it) taking snacks into the movies, events, etc. I was at Disney on Ice yesterday and they charged $12 for a snow cone. I mean come on!?!?! I had put some crackers in my bag, but poor Gav was reaching up as the guys walked by with the snow cones, thinking it was his personal waiter bringing him a snack. It was really hard to explain to him how those were for other people when they looked so appealing. If I had this cute Sachi tote, it would look like I was carrying my purse, but really be insulated and cute. That way I could even stop by the drugstore and get ice cream or something like that for Gav to have at events like this. Great idea or what?!!

Anyhow, here are some pics of the Sachi (oh BTW Sachi means 'happiness & joy' in Japanese. How great is that!?). They are under $16 each. What a great deal!

OH And doesn't this Sachi remind you of a certain other Vera bag???

Holiday Cards!

Thanksgiving is over and it is now officially time to start getting ready for Christmas! (I know... some people start before Halloween) One of my favorite things to do every year is to take photos and design my holiday card. I love graphic design, but for something as important (well, important to me) as a holiday card, I leave that up to the professionals. Really... I pick something really nice off of ShutterFly and somehow add my own spin through creative photography, theaming, etc. This year I actually picked the card first and took the picture second.

A few weeks back I took part in the huge craft fair affiliated with where I work. I sold out of everything (with the exception of 8 clips). I met some of the coolest people who were also exhibiting at the craft fair. I work for a very very very very large health care system so there was an amazing group of 50 talented vendors that day. One vendor I met was the design group "Me & Him." They currently do graphic design for their friends out of their home but their work is truly amazing. They are the nicest guys and soo helpful! As soon as I met them I knew I wanted them to design my holiday card. I picked an idea similar to one in their portfolio but they were able to customize it, change some colors, etc. and I am so happy with their work!

The next thing I needed was a photo worthy of this awesome card. My camera (as I have blogged about several times below) is broken so the photo this year had to go to the professionals. I ended up going to Portrait Innovations because a friend of mine had her child's pictures posted on FB and I LOVED the 'Santa Hands' concept. I had never seen anything like it! (And as some of you know, Gavin is terrified of anyone dressed in costume... don't get me started on when we went to Walt Disney World this spring). So anyway at Portrait Innovations, the first thing I asked when I made my appointment and when I got there was "Do you have 'Santa Hands'?" They kept assuring me yes... but I had to see them to believe it. Well finally after the obligatory 2 hour holiday season wait on Black Friday we got in for gav's picture. I asked for the 'Santa Hands' and the photographer called a guy who worked there to come wear them... at that point I asked "Excuse me, but could I wear the Santa Hands?" The photographer said "Sure!? if you want!" So I DID!!! Anyhow... so here is the final picture I chose and the holiday card and that is me (you can tell it is by how I'm holding the plate LOL) with Santa Hands!!! YES!!!

Thank you!!!

Hi!
I have two super exciting things to tell you this morning! Ok three.. ok maybe more, but 3 for now. So first of all thanks to everyone who shopped with me yesterday on Cyber Monday! I had 5 people order and some orders were for multiple items! Love it! Thanks so much :)

The 2nd thing (most exciting thing EVER!) is that I received a photo from the very first sale I made on Etsy! It was a custom order to a bride in Virginia. She asked for ivory organza flowers that look like dogwood (state flower of VA). Here are the flowers that I created:

I just received a photo yesterday from the gorgeous bride! She sent me a picture of the flowers in her hair as she was preparing for her wedding! This is the most beautiful picture. I can not express how happy, proud, and overwhelmed with grattitude I am everytime I look at it. Thank you M for sending this, you are the most gorgeous bride :)

Last thing (for now! Lol)
You all know about my giveaway (once I have 25 followers). Oh! As an update I sold out of the black/carmel bobby pins yesterday, so I will add another item soon so there will be a choice for the giveaway. But... there is another givaway from Shabby Apple. If you head over to Otherhood (like Motherhood, get it?) there is an amazing dress giveaway! For ladies! Beautiful designs. Exciting stuff :)

HAPPY CYBER MONDAY!

Hi! Happy Cyber Monday! I hope everyone has had a nice Tgiving break and is back in the routine of work/school. It's nice to have time off, but also nice to get back to work! Exciting news... I made it into an Etsy Treasury! most of you know what it is... it is a selection of favorite products put into a gallery on Etsy. There are hundreds of thousands of sellers on etsy and only hundreds of treasury galleries (between 400-600) so even though it sounds like a lot, it is an honor to be chosen for one. And.... an even bigger honor is to be chosen by someone you know through Etsy... TheMasonry chose me for hers! You know her, (see blog entry below) she is the one who hooked my shop up with its awesome holiday banner and avatar! To see the treasury I'm in... click HERE. See the pale pink and silver headband? That is mine!!! Oh! and one more thing about treasuries... frequently the folks at Etsy will choose the BEST treasuries to make it to the Etsy.com front page. That guarantees you 'hearts' (people marking you/your item as a favorite) and very likely sales too! Awesome free marketing to the millions who go to Etsy every day :) This is my 2nd Treasury ever. I totally forgot to do a print screen of the first one. It was 'lavender and chocolate' and had my clips. Oh well, maybe I'll make it in again!

Be sure to check out my shop for special EtsyHolidaySale Cyber Monday specials, be sure to follow my blog if you aren't already to get in on the giveaway and last, but not least... contact my pal TheMasonry on etsy or themasonry(at)gmail.com for a FREE awesome banner!!! Yes!
